Service 1: Notarize a Signature
(More detailed information)
The Notary will notarize (witness) your signature by identifying you with your I.D., and watch you sign the document. The Notary will then sign, seal, and date the document.
Before arriving at our office: MARK AN 'X' at each place the Notary is to sign; complete your documents: fill in forms, enter ID numbers, attach photos, etc.; EXCEPT don't sign or date.
We do not make documents. You must bring the documents with you. If you need some help, here are: SOME SAMPLES.
By law, each person signing, must sign in front of the Notary.
Fees are charged per Notary signature/seal, not per document.
The name on your Gov't-issued Photo ID must match the name on the document being signed. This is especially important if you have two last names or a middle name is included on the document.
If you have a document which requires the Notary to give legal advice or explain the contents, you will need to take that document to a qualified Lawyer. The Notary cannot give any legal advice. If your Lawyer allows you to strike out such statements before coming to our office; then the Notary can proceed to notarize these documents.
If your document needs an extra Witness, bring someone with you if you can, or we can try to ask another Client to be your Witness.
We can notarize documents that are in a foreign language. However, it's up to you to determine if the place you're sending the document to will accept it.
The Client will bring a document that they will sign in front of the Notary; and
The document does not ask the Client to make a sworn statement, solemn declaration, or affirmation; and
The Client needs the Notary to witness them signing the document; and
The Notary should then sign and put the Notary seal on the document.
To help us set aside enough time for your appointment please select the option below that
best describes the type of document you will be signing.
If you are signing more than one type of document, just choose the type you think will take the most time to Notarize.
When you make a selection, it will show you more information about that document type.
By law, each person signing must appear and sign in front of the Notary.
The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions we will text to your phone.
Select this option if you have a Form that you are going to sign and you want the want the Notary to witness you signing.

By law, each person signing must appear and sign in front of the Notary.
Two Witnesses are required. The Notary will be one Witness, and you must bring the other Witness with you.
The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions we will text to your phone.
If you are required to 'NOTARIZE' a Criminal Record Check document and you aren't sure what they want you to do there are 2 possibilities:
Have the Notary certify your Criminal Record Check document is an original (Service 4 below); or
Have the Notary make a Certified True Copy of your Criminal Record Check document (Service 3 below).
By law, the Notary cannot tell you which of these options is required. You must choose which one will serve your purpose before you come to our office.
If you are uncertain, you may need to call the institution requesting your document to see which options they will accept.
When the original document is being requested, most Clients choose option (a).
If you are allowed to send a Certified True Copy of your Criminal Record Check document, most Clients choose option (b).
Select this option if you want the Notary to sign your Life/Pension Certificate document.
Before coming to our office fill in all ID names and identification numbers, if any, on the form; and bring these IDs with you.
If your Life/Pension Certificate asks the Notary to verify certain information you must bring supporting documents to verify such information. For example: To verify you are still married - A marriage certificate is required, and your partner must accompany you, along with their ID.
The name on your Gov't-issued Photo ID must match the name on the document being signed. This is especially important if you have two last names or a middle name is included on the document.
The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions we will text to your phone.

The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions we will text to your phone.
Select this option if you have property related documents.
Before arriving at our office: MARK AN 'X' at each place the Notary is to sign; complete your documents: fill in forms, enter ID numbers, issue dates, attach photos, etc.; EXCEPT don't sign or date.
If you need the Notary to make any Certified True Copies, select Service 3 below, as well.
When entering the number of places you need the Notary to sign (at "Total number... " below), include all the Notary signatures required on all your signed documents. This will enable us to set aside enough time for your appointment.
If you have a document which requires the Notary to give legal advice or explain the contents, you will need to take that document to a qualified Lawyer. The Notary cannot give any legal advice. If your Lawyer allows you to strike out such statements before coming to our office; then the Notary can proceed to notarize these documents.
By law, each person signing must sign in front of the Notary.
Fees are charged per Notary signature/seal, not per document.
The name on your Gov't-issued Photo ID must match the name on the document being signed. This is especially important if you have two last names or a middle name is included on the document.
If your document needs an extra Witness, bring someone with you, or you can try to ask another Client to be your Witness.
The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions texted to your mobile phone.
The Notary cannot be your Guarantor for a Cdn. passport or travel document application because they must be someone who has known you for a certain period of time.
However, if you can't find a suitable Guarantor you can get the 'In Lieu of Guarantor' form from a passport office. The Notary can then take your sworn statement on that form.
Before coming to our office, complete the form, except don't sign or date it.
Bring a passport photo for the Notary to sign, and any other documents they ask you to sign and have notarized. Enter the total number of places you need the Notary to sign at "Total number... " below.
If you need the Notary to make any Certified True Copies, select Service 3 below, as well.
The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions texted to your mobile phone.
Note: We are not able to notarize IRISH passports, due to their reporting requirements.
Some foreign passport applications will ask, 'How long has the Notary known you?' The Notary will enter 'Zero years.'
Many countries accept this, but if you are in doubt, you may want to first check with your country.
The Notary cannot give advice on this matter.
If your application asks the Notary to certify or confirm information you entered,
you must bring supporting documents to verify that information (expired passports, proof of address, etc.)
Complete the application, except don't sign or date it, before coming to our office.
Bring passport photos (if required) and any other documents they ask you to sign and have notarized. Enter the total number of places you need the Notary to sign at "Total number... " below.
If you need the Notary to make any Certified True Copies, select Service 3 below, as well.
The name on the Gov't-issued Photo ID you bring must match the name on the application.
This is especially important if you have two last names.
The Notary won't be able to notarize your documents until you have completed all the instructions texted to your mobile phone.
If you are asked to 'Notarize' a translation it can be confusing.
They may be asking you for a Translation Package.
A typical Translation Package consists of:
1) A statement by the Translator.
2) The translation signed by the Translator (not the Notary).
3) The original foreign language document, or a Certified True Copy of it (Service 3 below).
For #1, if the Translator is not certified, a translator's affidavit (sample) sworn by the Translator in front of the Notary is usually required.
The Notary won't know whether this typical Translation Package will suit your purpose so the Notary won't be able to give you advice.
When it is difficult to find out what is required, most Clients send this typical package.
If you are making a certified copy (Service 3 below) of a completed Translation Package, and the package doesn't include the original foreign document, you should also bring the original. If you can't the Notary will state that the original wasn't viewed.
Note: A Codicil, which is just an addendum or amendment to a Will, is treated the same as a Will for notarization purposes.
Notarizing a Will/Codicil requires two Witnesses, so you must bring a Witness with you. The Notary will be the second Witness.
The Witness you bring must be a person who has no chance of benefitting from the Will/Codicil in any way, and should not be an Executor of the Will/Codicil.
Do not sign the Will/Codicil or Affidavit of Execution until you are both in front of the Notary.
Notary fees are charged per Notary signature/seal, not per document. To notarize each Will/Codicil, 3 Notary signatures are required:
Notarizing your signature on the Will/Codicil.
Taking Witness's oath and signing the Affidavit of Execution.
Adding and signing an Exhibit Stamp on back of Will/Codicil to connect it with the Affidavit of Execution.
So, for each Will/Codicil, select two Service 1, and one Service 2 (Commission), below.
The name on the Gov't-issued Photo ID you bring, must match your name as it appears on the Will/Codicil. This is especially important if you have two last names or a middle name is included on the Will/Codicil.
Note: A person having their signature notarized must sign the document in front of the Notary.

Service 2: Commission an Oath

Before arriving at our office: MARK AN 'X' at each place the Commissioner is to sign; complete your documents: fill in forms, enter ID numbers, issue dates, attach photos, etc.; EXCEPT don't sign or date.
Commissioning fees are charged per Commissioner signature, not per document (If your document has an Exhibit and you want us to sign it, an extra fee applies).
We do not make documents. You must bring the documents with you. If you need some help, here are: SOME SAMPLES.
By law, each person taking an oath, must do so in front of the Commissioner.
The name on your Gov't-issued Photo ID must match the name on the document being signed. This is especially important if you have two last names or a middle name is included on the document.
If you have a document which requires the Commissioner to give legal advice or explain the contents, you will need to take that document to a qualified Lawyer. The Commissioner cannot give any legal advice. If your Lawyer allows you to strike out such statements before coming to our office; then the Commissioner can proceed to Commission these documents.
If your document needs an extra Witness, bring someone with you, or you can try to ask another Client to be your Witness.
The Client will bring a document that requires them to make a sworn statement, solemn declaration, or affirmation; and
The Notary / Commissioner will ask the Client to make an Oath (Solemn Declaration, etc); and
The Client will sign the document in front of the Notary / Commissioner; and
The Notary will then sign and put the Notary seal on the document.
Note: We can commission ANY document containing a sworn statement.
Note: A person making an oath must do so in front of the Commissioner (no exceptions).

Service 3: Make a Notarized/Certified True Copy
(More detailed information)
Do not select Service 3 if you will be signing the document; instead, go to Service 1 or 2 above.
The Notary will compare the original to the photocopy and sign and seal the photocopy as a Certified True Copy.
Bring the originals and photocopies. The Notary must see the original, and there is no copier or printer at our office.
The original can't be a printout. However, if the printout has been signed or stamped by the issuing authority, then it is considered to be an original. If you have a printout and the original can only be viewed on a Website, in an App, or in an Email, do not select this service, select Service 5 below (Electronic Certifications).
A multi-page document requires only 1 seal. The Notary will seal 1st page and signature stamp other pages. If 5 or more pages, extra fee of $0.25 per page.
If you are photocopying multiple documents onto a single page, by law, each photocopied image requires its own seal. A fee for each seal is required.
You can bring another person's documents; the documents don't have to belong to you.
The Client will bring an Original document (Example: Driver's Licence), and a Photocopy they made of it; and
The Client needs the Notary to Certify that the Photocopy is a true copy of the Original; and
For this Service, the Client will not be signing the document as in Service 1 or 2; and
The Notary will certify, sign, and put the Notary seal on the Photocopy.
Note: The Notary must view the original document (not a printout), and you must also bring the photocopy.
Each Certified True Copy (even if it has multiple pages) only requires 1 Notary signature / seal.

Service 4: Certify an Original Document is in fact an Original
(More detailed information)
The Notary will determine that the original document you bring in is in fact an original, and then the Notary will sign it, certify it is an original, and seal it.
The original can't be a printout. However, if the printout has a fresh stamp or signature on it from the issuing authority, then it is considered to be an original.
A multi-page original requires only 1 seal. The Notary will seal the 1st page and signature stamp the other pages. If there are 5 or more pages, there is an extra fee of $0.25 per page.
You can bring another person's original documents; the documents don't have to belong to you.
The Client will bring an Original document, for example: Letter signed by a Doctor, Tax Return, etc.; and
The Client only needs the Notary to Certify that the document is in fact an Original; and
For this Service, the Client will not be signing the document as in Service 1 or 2; and
The Notary will certify, sign, and put the Notary seal on the Original.
Note: The Notary must view the original document (not a printout).

Service 5: Make a Notarized/Certified True Copy of an Electronic Document
(More detailed information)
If your document has an Electronic Signature and you want the Notary to witness your signature, do not select this Service, instead, select Service 1 or 2 above.
The Notary will compare your printout to an electronic document on a website, or as an attachment in an email, sign and seal the printout, and certify it is a true copy of the electronic document.
DISCLAIMER: Traditionally, a Notary only certifies copies of original documents that are in the Notary's possession. An Electronic Certification may not meet the legal requirements of the institution requesting your documents. It is the Client's responsibility to confirm whether an Electronic Certification will satisfy your particular institution's requirements; the Notary cannot warrant the usefulness of an Electronic Certification.
Bring the website and/or email address, and a printout of each of your electronic documents; there is no copier or printer at our office.
If possible, have your documents already viewable in separate tabs on your own electronic device before you arrive at our office; or you can use our tablet if necessary. The Notary must be able to watch the downloading of each document from the source.
You can bring another person's documents; the documents don't have to belong to you.
Similar to Service 3, the Client will bring a Photocopy or Printout of a document, for example: Bank Statement, Paystub, etc.; but with Service 5, there is no Physical Original; and
The Original document can only be viewed as an Electronic document on a Website, or App, or in an Email; and
For this Service, the Client will not be signing the document as in Service 1 or 2; and
The Client needs the Notary to view the Electronic document, and Certify that the Printout is a true copy of the Electronic document; and
The Notary will certify, sign, and put the Notary seal on the Printout.
Electronic certification requires significantly more time so there is an increased fee for this service; 1st: extra $7.00, additional: extra $4.00 each.
Note: The Notary must be able to view the original document on a Website, or App, or in an Email.

Open a topic to read about it.
Apostille
Usually, it is the Embassy/Consulate of the country receiving the document who would tell you if your document needs to be Apostilled.
We don't provide an Apostille service.
Notaries are not allowed to give advice on whether your specific document needs to be Apostilled, or which Apostille office you should attend, or how to proceed with Apostille.
Many documents do need to be Notarized before being Apostilled; we can Notarize any document.
Our Notary seals are registered with Official Document Services in Toronto and in Ottawa.

Service 5 - Notarizing/certifying that a printout is a true copy of an original document that can only be viewed in an email or on a website: The owner of the document does not need to come to the office; someone else can bring your printouts, as long as they have access to the email / website / app where the Notary can view the electronic version of your document.
MOBILE NOTARY: If you are looking for a Notary to come to your location, please text us 'Mobile' and we will send you contact information for a Mobile Notary.
Note: Mobile Notarization is significantly more expensive than in-office Notarization.
Witnesses
In most cases it is the institution receiving your document who would answer your questions about Witnesses.
By law, Notaries are not allowed to give advice on:
...Who can be a Witness.
...How many Witnesses you need.
...When or where Witnesses should sign.
The Notary is usually considered to be an Official Witness.
If you decide you want EXTRA Witnesses to sign your document while at our office, bring someone with you, if you can, or you can try to ask another Client to be your second Witness.
The Notary won't be able to provide any Extra Witnesses.
If you are unsure whether the Notary can be the Extra Witness, in addition to being the Official Witness, it is best to contact the institution receiving or viewing your document for direction.
The Notary cannot be both the Commissioner and the Witness in an Affidavit of Execution.
Special Cases: WILLS/CODICILS and CONTINUING POWER OF ATTORNEY (CPOA).
Because these are important, personal, documents; the Notary will be the first Witness and you MUST bring your second Witness with you.

If the notary has to verify other information such as a relationship, status within an organization, etc., bring proof of same.
Generally, if your document asks the Notary to make a statement about something, then bring proof so that the Notary can make that statement.
If you can't bring such proof, then the Notary will have to strike out those statements on your document.
Striking out something is always done in a legal, proper way, however, the Notary has no way of knowing if it will be acceptable to the institution receiving your document. If you have doubts, first verify with them.
Note: There is no printer, scanner or photocopier at our office.
Legal Names
By law, the Notary can only identify you using the LEGAL NAME printed on your Gov't issued ID.
Therefore, whenever you are signing, the name on your document must match the first and last names of the LEGAL NAME on your ID.
If there are middle names on your document, they must also be present, and match the middle names on your ID.
If the name on your document doesn't match the name on your ID, there are 2 options:
We will cross out the name on your document, and write the LEGAL NAME from your ID beside it.
We will write AKA (Also Known As) beside the name on your document, and then write the LEGAL NAME from your ID beside it.
Warning: Though we will change your document in a proper, legal way, we have no way of knowing if the receiving institution will accept this legal change.
If you have multiple legal names, the Notary can't give advice on which name you should use. Make sure to bring an ID that matches the name you decide to use.
IDs
Each person signing in front of the Notary must bring 1 Gov't Photo ID, or 2 non-Photo Gov't IDs.
Any Gov't issued ID can be included in the above: Foreign IDs, Marriage License, OHIP, etc.
If the document asks the Notary to make a statement about the ID, for example: 'The Notary viewed the Passport'; then you must bring that ID.
The Notary can't give advice on which particular ID you need for your documents, nor which name you should use if you have multiple legal names.
If you are only getting notarized copies of documents, an electronic version of your ID is sufficient.
If the photo on the ID is recent enough to identify you then it is acceptable; if not bring a non-Photo ID as well.
Witnesses do not need to bring ID, unless they are taking an oath, or the Notary is Notarizing their signature as well as your own.
